I have finished to sail alone long time ago. It is boring and dangerous.
And my general opinion is that an IF-boat or a M26 is too small and thus inconvenient for oversea crossing. You may manage a couple of days or so, but not several weeks.
When sailing overseas, communication to shore and to other ships is very important. Besides the normal VHF-radio it is wise to have some type of satellite communication, maybe also a short wave radio with a pedal electric power generator.
