Underdeck furler Bartels ropeguiding

Post by NED1417 »

Hi there,
I m curious how you guys/girls manage the rope guidance below deck and/or in the cockpitarea.
Stays it inside or do you guide them (single or double) to the cockpit??
And than if you do, on wich place you come in the cockpit.
I`v dont see anything about that on pictures to

I do not have a furling foresail myself. But as I have heard from those who use it that there is provided a rope loop which is is not guided. When not used, the loop is fold and stored in the forepeak under the matrasses. When used during sailing, the loop is drawn backwards through the cabin and fixed by a servo-cleat or similar mounted inside the cabin to the cabin ceiling near the cabin hatch, in handy distance for the crew to grab and pull.

Okay. That make sence by cruising.
Also during racing or maybe more a permanent guiding?
