Re: Table design and fittings?
Thanks - it sounds like the fittings and legs aren’t available to purchase new?

Table design and fittings?
My IF does not have a cabin/cockpit table. It must have got lost in the past as the fittings are still in the floor! I've attached a couple of photos taken from Twitter which shows what I assume is the original table design? Does anyone know if there are dimensions / drawings of the table available ...

Aluminium Grab Rails
Hello everyone. Unfortunately one of the aluminium grab rails on my coach roof has been damaged and I need to replace it. The photo is before the damage!
Are the original parts anodised or just plain aluminium? I want to make sure I get something that matches.
Thanks and Happy Christmas to all.

Cockpit floor
Hi. My IF has 2 removable panels on the cockpit floor to access the engine.
Are these original, or have these been added later?
Does anyone have any advice on how to make the hatches properly water tight? The seals on mine aren’t very good and leak.
Thanks everyone,
James

Re: What size / type of hatch seal do I need?
Thanks all - I’ve ordered 3 metres of 16mm EDPM foam. Slightly smaller than the old one which was a bit too big.

What size / type of hatch seal do I need?
Hello everyone,
I have just removed the old seal on my forehatch and need to replace it.
What size / type / shape of seal is best to use? I have removed a round seal but I'm not sure if that is correct.
Thanks,
James

Spinnaker dimensions
Hi All, I am looking at buying a second hand spinnaker for cruising and there are some advertised locally. Does anyone know the approximate luff and foot dimensions of the one design spinnaker. I know the area is 36.3 m2 but those advertised simply have luff and foot measurements listed, so it would...

Shroud attachment fitting
Hi All. I think I have lost one of the 2 deck fittings for my IF cap shroud. Does anyone sell them? I have replaced the fittings for my lower shrouds with the 4 bolt version from seacamper, but I don't think they sell the fitting for the long cap shrouds. Any help or suggestions welcome - thanks, Ja...

Re: Steel bow fitting?
Thank you everyone. Reassuring to know this fitting is also found in other boats too. I plan to dry it out properly and then fill with some Epoxy before replacing the bow fitting. I also managed to clean out my hull / deck joint last weekend and replace the sealant with Bostik MSR CA. Hopefully that...

Steel bow fitting?
Hi,
I removed the stainless steel fitting from
my bow and there was oxidation coming from a steel fitting underneath.
Any idea what it is, and whether I should remove it? I have drilled around it, but I haven’t been able to get it out so far.
Thanks,
James

Re: Is this forum section needed?
Hello All, When I was looking for an IF boat to buy I found the English section a really helpful place to start. Now I have bought one, I find the Swedish section most useful as the detail in the technical sections is really helpful - with the help of Google translate. Yes Google struggles with tech...

Thanks All,
Going to use the Bostic sealant as suggested.
Lots of leaks all around the deck fittings too so I’m removing and re-sealing all of those, and the windows too.

Thanks Maja.
Great - it doesn’t sound hollow so that makes sense. Time to clean it up and convince my wife that it can come inside for a while!

Rudder blisters - leak
Hi, My rudder has blisters with moisture underneath. I have stripped off the copper coat epoxy, and now have a bare rudder. I gather that this is quite a common issue - should I drill holes in my rudder to drain moisture, and if so, where? My IF is from 1979 and is in good condition. Thanks, James
